Order for 1000th temporary home from Nationaal Coördinator Groningen (NCG)

27 Oct 2022

NCG recently commissioned Daiwa House Modular Europe to build new earthquake-resistant homes in the Loppersum and Wirdum earthquake zone in the north of the province of Groningen. This marked the commissioning of the 1,000th ‘temporary home’. Despite their temporary nature, these homes have the quality of permanent homes and are built to provide comfortable and safe living. A necessary condition, as people spend an average of nine months in temporary housing before they can return to their own homes. Depending on the intensity with which their own homes are reinforced, the length of stay varies between a few weeks and two years.
